1874-CC $5 Gold Liberty With Motto PCGS AU53 (CAC) A GEM AU!

We fully consider this coin a CHOICE AU. Its a nice coin!

Pleasing surfaces have just a few trivial and widely scattered ticks. There are no big scrapes. A dots of Mint grease can be seen. There are no spots or discolorations. The color is a rich original gold. Miss Liberty and the details show even wear with no darkness on the highpoints. The eye appeal is great!

PCGS 10, NGC 15, CAC 5. Going back to 2015, there are NO auction records for any PCGS CAC piece in AU53. Some how, the current Collectors Universe value is $20,000.00. This coin had been tucked away with a collector for a few years-it is not from the big hoard (not that there were many any way). A great coin to add to any great CC set!
