1969-S 1C Small Cent Lincoln, Memorial Dbld Die PCGS MS64RD+ (CAC)

$195,000.00

WOW! No question, this coin is a clear-cut Double Die. In our opinion, the quality is SUPER HIGH END! We think it does indeed have MS tendencies (we make NO promises). We really LOVE this near-miss GEM.

In our opinion, we think only a light stain/toning patch behind Lincoln’s head on the obverse keeps this coin from grading a full MS 65 RD. We used a strong glass and looked all over. Much to our surprise, there are no ticks or marks of any kind. The surfaces are smooth. A strong luster beams all over. Both sides are a GEM original full Mint Red. Lincoln and all of the details are fully struck. You do not need a glass to see the doubling anywhere. The eye appeal is tremendous!

PCGS 5, NGC 1, CAC 2. PCGS has graded this coin as the lone MS64+. This coin has NO auction history. Although i t has been confirmed in 2008 this coin sold for $126,000.00. Do note: the Stewart Blay coin (which is the only CAC graded higher), a 66RD, brought $600,000.00 when his estate sold the coin. There are no MS 65RDs by PCGS. Be glad we are seeking to place this coin. God only knows what it could do in auction with bigger exposure.

If you collect Lincoln Cents or even errors, this piece ranks among the ultimate prizes to acquire. And in today’s market, we think it offers strong potential.
