1908 $20 Gold St Gaudens No Motto PCGS MS67 (CAC) SUPERIOR TO MOST!
$21,500.00
To start, this is NOT a Wells Fargo coin-and it looks it! We rank the coin as true SUPERB GEM! In our opinion, this date, in this grade is GROSSLY UNDERvalued.
Suprisingly immaculate surfaces emit a strong glowing luster. We used a strong glass and found few ticks and no problems. The colors are totally original and are remarkable. They start with pale greenish gold rims and blend into lovely orange gold centers. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are not flat (like this date typically comes and are well struck. The eye appeal is beautiful!
PCGS 934, NGC 349, CAC 26. We view it as a powerful statement that CAC has ONLY beaned 26 pieces out of the 1283 graded to date. That is LESS than 2%. And of the 26, we estimate maybe only 3-4 are + pieces that have been beaned (PCGS has graded 14 + pieces). The price sheets are so wrong it is ridiculous. We would buy EVERY PCGS CAC piece you could find at the posted numbers. We paid DOUBLE that for this coin. Keep in mind, this date is also a Type coin. A 1907 in MS67 is $100,000.00. Compare this date CAC pop of 26 and what its selling for vs a 1924 pop 30 which are $45-$50,000.00! Even if you want to say the 1924 is too high, the 1908 prices are too low.
This is a beautiful and hard to find SUPERB GEM piece.
