We are always on the hunt for VERY CHOICE Proof 1875 Cameo 20C. These are far rarer then most people know (take our word, we built the #1 set of these and know the series well). This coin we rank as HIGH END.
Strong mirrors have just one or two light and widely scattered wispy lines. We used a strong glass and did not see any impairments. There is light original toning all over the coin (it is not haze). The peripheries have more visual olive/champagne/pale blue color while the centers Have pale light toning. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is great!
PCGS 19, NGC 18, CAC 6. Price guides (especially for a coin like this) are so far behind they are worth being published. They will never be updated because so few of these ever trade hands publically. We did pay MORE than the list CU value of $5,500.00.
