1851-D $1 Gold Dollar Type 1 PCGS MS62 (CAC) A REAL CUTIE!

We are fans of early C+D minted coins and we do like to stock them. This coin had everything we like. We rank this coin VERY HIGH END!

Of course we used a strong glass to survey the surfaces. Shockingly, we could not find any issues-even tiny ones. There were light Mint made striations, but they were not strong. Hard to ever find bagmarks on these smaller coins. The luster was suprisingly strong. Both sides had GEM original deeper orange gold color. There were no discolorations or spots. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 19, NGC 23, CAC 2. CAC has only beaned 3 coins finer. Until this coin appeared, there was never a PCGS CAC piece sold via auction. You know what that means-the price guides are not up to snuff. As time goes on, we can’t see more of these being beaned or even being offered for sale. We LOVE this tiny rarity. A great coin destined for your great collection!
