1865 3C Three Cent Silver Type 3 PCGS MS68 (CAC) WILD!

Note: we do have another one we paid more for. If we could have, we would have purchased the entire find of these.

Yes, this is from that small “discovery” group that also yielded the PCGS CAC MS 69 (which Legend bought for $180,000.00). We LOVE this coin as much as any we have seen (and we helped build the finest MS 3CS set! It is equal to the other.

If we hadn’t seen the MS 69, we’d be calling this coin Gods gift to all MS 3CS. We felt it was SUPER HIGH END and did resubmit it for a +. Obviously, no luck.

The surfaces are pristine. When using a strong glass you do not find any problems. What you do see is some heavy die clashing strike throughs-which are really neat. The surfaces are also moderately semi-prooflike and shine with a powerful blooming like luster. There is a some gorgeous rim colors too. The reverse exhibits some faint golden brown with blue at a part of the rim. The originality of this coin is tremendous. Every detail is fully struck. The eye appeal is mind boggling!

PCGS 5, NGC 1, CAC 5 (think that includes the 2 MS 68+ pieces). The current Collectors Universe value is $57,500.00. If you seek exceptional quality coins and MONSTER eye appeal, then this coin is worthy of any box of 20, top type set, or any 3CS set. The MS 69 is locked away for a VERY long time!
