1866 MATCHED ORIGINAL PROOF SET PCGS PR66-68 (CAC)

This set has quite a history. A family from Virginia decided to sell its collection in 2000. From what we understood, the collection had two parts: circ Bust Dollars and the most amazing array of matched original Proof sets anyone has ever seen. The real kicker: these coins were personally selected by a descendant from the Mint. We never found out who it was. We were lucky and bought the majority of the sets. The COAL owner purchased several sets. We can’t remember who got the rest. Regardless, like all the other coins in the COAL, this set is amazing!
