No question, this is a SUPERB GEM AU and a VERY HIGH-END piece. To find these unmessed with is a miracle!
Excellent surfaces have just a few microscopic tiny scattered ticks. Using a strong glass, you will not find anything to disappoint you. It’s hard to believe a 224-year-old coin can have an original luster so strong as this one does. Both sides are GEM original yellow gold color with deeper orange highlights. There are NO spots or discolorations. The strike is more typical of an early date coin with some weakness in the center. Remember these were handmade. The stars are near full, while Miss Liberty is weaker in strike in the center. The reverse also has a soft strike on the upper portion of the Eagle. The eye appeal is phenomenal!
PCGS 14, NGC 19, CAC 11 (resubs for sure). Do NOT be fooled by the pops. Opportunity knocks loud here!
