ALMOST LIKE THE GOOD OLD DAYS
Legend Numismatics did well over $5,000,000.00 in business in January. We sold everything from the kitchen sink to possibly the first US coin ever struck (the 1C 1793 Ameri). Even at the FUN Show we did several unsolicited six figure sales.
February has started out of a good vibe for us too (see below). We are seeing a new customer or two pop up here and there as well. As we even said last week, there is life to the market.
The only negative issue-prices. What the heck is going on? We see the market on many better coins as being one heck of a sale. Its amazing to us how some coins just slid down with out notice-especially on bigger better gold. We are stumped as to why collectors are not flopping over themselves buying these particular coins. Plus, it stumps us as we can not find what we need-at any price.
There are two mega auctions coming up-Doug Bird Copper (so fresh) and the unbelievable Brent Pogue coins (he loved coins probably more then anyone ever). We highly doubt there will be many coins slipping through the cracks. It is our expectations BOTH sales WILL raise the market. NOTE: if you seek representation. email Laura Sperber now: email@example.com. We will be in attendance at both sales.
BUY MS+PR BARBER AND SEATED COINS TODAY!
Of all the coins you can buy (save for 3CN’s) these have floated down to scratch your head too cheap pricing. We do not say this just to sell a few coins. The Barbers especially can be completed at dirt cheap prices. In several dates you can own the entire PCGS CAC popular for UNDER $10,000.00! And some of these coins are 100+ years old. Last some look AWESOME too!
BLACK CAT COMPLETES AN HISTORICAL SET: THE FINEST EVER PROOF 20C
In true Black Cat style, the kitty could not just settle for a regular 4 piece set. When we added the last piece, the 20C 1877 PCGS PR67+ Cameo, he thought he was done. We thought it was done. Not to be.
Today, we are proud to congratulate Black Cat on obtaining the FINEST KNOWN and exceedingly rare (only 2 real pieces confirmed) 20C 1875-S PCGS PR64 BM CAC!
When we heard this coin was possibly available we pounced like a cat jumping off a hot tin roof. It was difficult figuring the value of the coin (it was six figures). It has virtually no comps. Legend actually sold the PCGS PR63 may years ago (not the same coin) so we had an idea. We firmly believe on really special coins like this, you bite the bullet unless its in a Pluto orbit. It took a little convincing the kitty, but after some chat, it was quickly agreed to pay the full asking price. Now knowing this coin existed, kitty would never settle for a lesser piece.
Black Cat will display this coin at the ANA Show. We both feel its something 99% of collectors have never seen. One look and no one will question if it is a real proof. We do not kid you when we tell you this by far is one of the neatest coins we have EVER handled (and we just sold the Chain Ameri Specimen, bought the $ 1794 Specimen, owned 2 1913 5C, etc)!
Black Cats two favorite collections: the 20C MS+PR and the Trade Dollars MS are the FINEST ever! Congrats and meow!
Remember, this Cat has claws and wants the very best and is not even close to being done!
Remember, we only buy what WE like. Some times that can lead to small offerings. Our prices are all based on what we paid. We do not buy low end junk or average coins. You’ll find our mark ups are super reasonable. We just want to place great coins and build great collections.
This week, ALL of our NEWPS are highlights! We build another SUPERB GEM Steel PDS Set as the last one sold very quick. We also happen to like them in high grade.
Also, browse through our regular inventory. We really do have some of the VERY best PCGS CAC coins on the market being offered. Not all the time do the great coins sell in minutes (or even days)!
HAVE SOME CAC GOLD VALUED $2,000.00-$5,000.00 YOU WANT TO SELL? Email or call George Huang.
