For the fourth time this year, Legend Numismatics has totally run out of Saints. We can NOT buy any better or semi better Saints. Every piece we put up gets sold within 24 hours. Looks like a rare combination of both supply and huge demand are fueling a raging fire. We have always maintained a substantial better date Saint inventory.
We’d rank demand for gold this way: Better Saints, Early Gold, Generics. ALL dollar values are involved. At the very top there are now SEVERAL players building GEM Saint sets. It seems the collecting public can’t get enough of generics either. We just had a 14-D in MS65 and a 65+ PCGS CAC Saints fore sale. Could have sold 5 of each in the same day! Crazy. Early gold has always been deeply craved by collectors. And generics, collectors seem to be paying significant premiums even for NON CAC coins-ore craziness!
We’ll say it again, we are uncomfortable with the prices on things like PCGS CAC MS66+ W/M Saints and commoner Saints. We could not sell MS66+ PCGS CAC for $4,250.00 two years ago. Today we’ll pay $5,500.00 per coin and would buy 100 if offered. Keeping in mind, these and other gold coins coins have risen as the price of gold as sputtered down. That is why we strongly recommend taking some profit now in ALL areas of gold. We thought the run up in values was going to be short lived but we were more then proved wrong (by wholesale bidders and major auctions). No one knows how much longer this gold bull run will last. We are not trying to scare anyone to rush to sell, just be sensible. When this music stops, you will not be happy with the numbers on the other side.

We need so many coins to sell into that huge deep black hole that now exists. Our customer base has almost tripled (you read that right) since the beginning of 2021. These new buyers crave quality and mostly gold coins. We’ll buy entire collections to get at the coins we need. We have IMMEDIATE funds! We can do hybrid auction/buy/memo deals. BE CAREFUL BUYING
Legend Numismatics has a long history of selling the very best quality. We see many collectors who are either uneducated or need to satisfy their coin habits going wayward and buying bad coins for too much money. Stop the madness!
The drecky coins in auctions are the biggest disasters. We watched as a few coins realized ridiculous prices in sales since the summer. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING! Stop and think. Why would a coin not have been sent to CAC when a CAC coin brings a strong premium? Asking an auction house and them responding a coin has not been to CAC is meaningless. You don’t know if the owner had sent in. Know PCGS CAC coins by far bring the most money-because they are of the best quality typically.
Because better coins are so scarce today, do NOT just run out and buy any coin to fill a hole. You are only hurting yourself. A bad coin brings down the values of good coins in collections. It also enables the coin docs.
Work with a dealer. Work with Legend, we are proven quality buyers. We know what is good, what is bad, and what is available. Or if you are buying better top pop coins on your own-hold out for eye appeal and look for a CAC bean. EYE APPEAL IS EVERYTHING! Do NOT get in a bidding war over an average, unsightly, or a coin that is over graded. It will take too much time before you will ever be profitable in it.
We are not yet in a full bull market. So if you pay too much for bad, marginal, or so/so coins now, you could end up hurt. Plus, they’d be an eye sore on your collection. THINK BEFORE YOU BUY!
