Collectors seemed to be distracted and just busy the first half of the week. Then starting Thursday, BOOM! We started selling some coins again including a big six figure beauty (wasn’t even on our web site)! It will be interesting to see how our sales go over the weekend.
No question collectors are seeking true quality (at least the ones we deal with). They fully understand that paying more for a hard to find with great eye appeal will yield them rewards down the road. The key words are down the road. We just bought a substantial gold deal (several of the Bust $5 are now posted) The sell did just okay as some of the coins they bought at the height of the gold pandemic buying craze in 2021. If possible you really need to hold your coins “long Term” at least 6-8 years minimum. Like fine wine, coins need to age. You really can make money in coins-your buying has a lot to do with it.

This collection was built by an extremely passionate collector over the past few years. Many mornings we get emails from him about certain coins he saw offered on the web. His mission was right up our alley-to buy quality and eye appeal.
You’d have thought building a set like this is easy. NOT! You can buy “stuff” pretty easily. But buying exceptional coins-especially proof coins with clear and flashy mirrors-no. The TYPETONE collector did it all right-he bought the very best he could afford and find. We sincerely congratulate him on his endeavor, he built a great set.
Like so many other collectors we deal with, he wants to make sure these coins go to good homes. TYPETONE is no way done w/coins. He is building a few other sets right now. Congrats and thank you for working with us!
THE PITTSBURGH COMMEM COLLECTION
WOW! This set came to us sadly as an estate. The family was left with instructions to work with us. The last coins purchased by this collector was back in the mid 2010’s. We deeply are sad to hear of his passing, he had been a passionate collector and a really swell person to hang around.
One thing for sure, he loved his colored commems. We had sold him many wild coins back in the day. A few though are MIA but there are still some killers in the collection. The collection is not complete but there are many duplicates. Grades range from MS 64-MS68!
