Luckily, we wandered into a small pocket of what the market really craves. $20 Gold Saints. In the past week, we SOLD 3 pieces for record prices (six figures each). We had expected to have to bring at least two coins to the ANA Show to sell. Not only the big stuff sold—we finally had some other Saints as well—including a few PCGS CAC MS65/MS66+ WM and boom! ALL SOLD within hours of posting.
Our sales for the past 10 days are well beyond $1 million (we have been way too busy to add them all up). We are hoping our ANA show sales are as strong. No BS, we actually thought about cancelling going because of our sales momentum at home, but we have a few deals that possibly could happen, so we will take the long hike. Overall, we expect a decent show. We do believe the majority of the action will be dealer to dealer. A lot of dealers need a lot of coins for sure. It will be very interesting to see if the levels they pay are still moving up (especially for gold). When they are hungry, we can sell coins for prices at or above what we are offering them for on our website. Remember, there are a ton of coins coming out of the auctions in two weeks. Typically, that dampens the market for 30-45 days. We know that we represent multiple collectors who are ready to buy!

There is still a substantial amount of money available for investment. Save for big art and sports cards, most collectible markets are on the comeback. Just watch how crazy that “discovery”—the 1804 Class III dollar— will sell for (it is not in auction yet). It’s important to note, we’ve been stuck in a period where not many fresh or exciting coins have come to market. The James Stack coins are a treasure trove of freshness, and we can’t imagine any of them selling cheap. Neither will the 35 1889CCs that just popped up!! Many collectors do not understand: coins bought in 2021-22 are NOT fresh if being resold today. A lot of those coins fell in value in 2023 and are now only starting to come back (most still have a way to go). When the “right” coins appear, so do the top buyers. You can still get some great values today.
