At first we were stunned like everyone else by the effects of the Covid 19 virus. We did not think there would be any coin market left. Oh were we wrong!
In the beginnings (March-April) we massive lots of junk coins were fleeing off the market. We heard of several stories were people would come in and spend MILLLIONS on this stuff. We are talking dreck generics that had premiums so low looking back you were amazed they even languished. Poof! All that stuff was gone. Dealers became flush. Huge problem now: little to NO fresh coins.
May was a very strong month for selling rare coins. But it really left the market starved and limping. June has been a dud because no one can find anything cool for sale.
The market is still suffering some funk and does have choppiness. BUT you can buy some incredible value now. Gold especially (we are not just saying it because we are forever gold bugs). Just look at each coin and where its pricing is at.
Remember, the coins you are buying today, are for TOMORROW’s profits. FACTS: hard assets likes coins and gold have out performed this stock market and are a proven safer haven. Rare coins did not go down 50%!
As we are writing this, we are watching the Stacks sale. We say watching because we are being blow away on widgets. Today this auction is really the only place the public or their dealers can buy coins. So from our perch we see things going strong overall. BUT, the prices are NOT crazy.
