MUCH BETTER WEEK
The prior week we wrote about how quiet things were. This week we have to say activity was strong and in certain areas totally unexpected.
All of the sudden regular Type picked up. Maybe its because we are extremely low on gold (although we do see many people who have started Type sets). One day we sold TWO GEM Bust Quarters -25C 1831 PCGS MS566 CAC and a 25C 1834 PCGS MS65+ CAC. We also confirmed the sale of a MONSTER $1 1898 PCGS PR66+ DCameo CAC piece and our 25C 1898 PCGS PR68+ DCameo CAC coin. Add to the incredible $10 1911 PCGS MS67 CAC piece. Plus we flipped a killer (and we mean killer) $1 1876CC PCGS MS64 CAC piece. Those are just a few of the wicked neat Type coins we sold. All the coins were sold to different buyers. It all added up to some serious numbers. It also needs to be noted the value of our inventory is at its lowest in 20 years!
THE LONG BEACH SHOW

What do we expect? First, we’re excited the ship of gold will be back. We heard its an even neater display then before. If you can attend it is a “must see”. Plus, what they are billing as the “worlds most valuable collection (which we strongly disagree) of coins will have its world coins on display. So the potential to draw in serious collectors is there. The question is, will it happen?
Wholesale wise we think it will be rough. There is so little neat stuff to buy and sell. The crack out sharks seem to be starting work early this Monday to try and beat each other to any coins. You can’t do much if there is really nothing to buy and sell.
We strongly believe gold will continue to enjoy strong demand. We’re afraid too many people though will be looking for it at the show-leaving us nothing. We are going out early to buy, buy buy!
We also are prepared to play hard in the auction. However, we know we are not alone! Every one seems to be vying for the same neat coins. Very little if any thing will sell cheap. Be ready to see some record prices! Do know that those record prices ARE the market.
NEWPS
Legend Numismatics tank is now empty. We have all our gold up. We have very few (if any) coins valued at under $1,500.00. It is NOT by our choosing. We are going to Long Beach not just for some welcome warm weather (no snow), but to buy! The good news is, one of our regular suppliers is selling us a very decent small gold deal next week.
