WE HAD A SLOW WEEK
We could not win this past week. The USPS was not so efficient on their express mails. As of this writing we have several MIA packages-including our winnings from last week’s Stacks sale. GULP! Only a small handful of coins (we’ll call them appetizers) has come in so far. Overall, we experienced a very quiet week-which is really not a reflection on the entire market.
Yet again, if we had the coins, we could sell them. Demand (especially on gold) is stronger than we have EVER seen it. Our Want List is now far more than $22 million-we quit counting. Most of it is gold. It’s not like we are not hunting every day. Paying stiff prices? Yes absolutely, we will (however we will not pay a ridiculous $75G for an MS67+ Common date Saint). Legend is all about selling superior quality at realistic prices, something that actually is experiencing supreme demand these days. We will not lower out standards just to buy coins. We are just stymied by how few coins we have access too.

Tax time HAS slowed the market a tiny bit. The trend seems to be instead of not buying, collectors ask for 30-day terms. The new breed of collector are such coin weenies (a good term) they can’t stop buying. We strongly believe our Regency Auction 51 will show the markets full rebound. Too many people made too much money in 2021. They absolutely are buying coins.
Take note: one way you can tell how strong the market is: by what is for sale. The Bass ANA coins will soon be auctioned off (auctioneer to be determined) as will the entire Tom Bender Collection. Since Bass is all gold, it’s safe to say they noticed the monster strength of the market. Makes us wonder if the top is nearby. We know Bender knew the market was strong and it was time for him to sell for personal reasons. These are two possible reasons why you might not want to wait it out and see how much stronger the market gets. There will be a ton of major coins hitting the market in the second half of 2022. Be ready for what that means to you. Remember, you can never get hurt taking a profit!

Buy today for tomorrow. If you think coins are like stocks and you can catch a cyclical wave-chances are you won’t win. You should always buy THE BEST YOU CAN AFFORD and HOLD. Over the years, we have found that true collectors are some of the best inventors in coins.
They do not build collections only to tear them down and sell within months of completion. Long Term holding to them was always a goal. What does long term mean? Usually 5+ years. The key is the +. Sometimes it takes longer. Bob Simpson is a great but abstract example. He paid record crazy prices for the right coins. He never had plans to sell but a divorce made him. Its been 10+ years of his ownership on most of his rarities. Save for one coin (which was sold 3 months too early), he is cashing in at record numbers. We have made so many other collectors a ton of money over the years. The principals of Legend have been major market makers for over 40 years and have seen it all! We know what we are talking about and have a huge track record. Heck, we strongly believe even the people who bought some of the pop 1 or 2 coins from Fairmont will do well in time-and those were beyond Pluto money! We are very happy with how we guided collectors through the sale.

Whew, we do have a few wonderful NEWPS. Hard to believe one of our favorite NEWPS is an 1881-S $1 PCGS MS68+ CAC. This is no ordinary just made it coin. We are mesmerized by the quality and eye appeal. WOW!
We actually have a very decent offering of coins UNDER $10,000.00.
There is a very sweet offering of choice 3CS pieces. These have all been off the market for years. They are duplicates from a major collection of 3CS pieces from a very long time collector. You’ll especially LOVE the 2 1869/8’s. They are rare and they are both super nice coins!

You know we always tell you how we have record eyeballs, etc. We for our Regency 51 not only do we have that, we have record bodies. We have even had people flying in to the view the coins. For 51, we are enjoying record participation. We do not recall having as many people lot view as we have had for this sale. Of course having the Dale Friend Collection and the Glorious Pattern Collection have helped. We strongly suggest you get to us asap as the coins leave for the show Friday April 22.
