ITS ALL ABOUT GOLD
This past week, everything we sold was gold (save for one Peace Dollar). Our world is buying nothing but BETTER gold. We can NOT restock. There is no gold out there. We have heard of a piece or two, but the dealers want “beyond moon money” for them. So, we sit, wait, and watch our sales suffer. Legend does not own a single Saint at this time-something that upsets us greatly. We are stuck in mud-UGLY!
After this Market Report was written, we got a call offering us a six-figure coin. Of course it was over priced. We wanted it and were starting to make an offer. The seller said “don’t even go there”. Grrrr. The coin was sexy enough and rare enough we just bought it. We took a collective deep breath after buying it. It felt good to buy a really cool FRESH coin. BUT we were nervous about what we paid. We asked a trusted confidant and they said we were fine. Now, we’re in talks to sell it (not to a regular buyer either). Its NOT a gold piece! VERY strong market!
Be on notice that some bigger dealers really do not own the coins they are offering (especially gold), or you might see what you think is the same coin being offered by someone else. The fringe dealers especially are the ones who do this. They take coins or images of coins from dealers (usually with permission) and post them like they have the coin. You want to avoid them. Their prices are higher, and they really have little knowledge of numismatics. Plus, the real owner of the coin could have sold it without telling them. You’d be amazed at who does this.
For the life of us, we do not understand why GEM Type is floating with no steam. Type can be as cool as anything. If you are a contrarian thinker, NOW is the time to buy better Type!
