NOT SO QUIET
The Bass sale was an aberration of the market. The powerful results were unexpected. However, we knew the regular marketplace was nowhere near as active. It is safe to say we are slowly coming out of the summer ANA show doldrums.
We were surprised to sell a few five figure coins this past week. Our lone Bass inventory purchase of the $5 1909 PCGS PR67 CAC which we posted at $129,500.00 (SOLD) had three serious buyers nearly as soon as we listed it. Collectors cannot get enough of the BEST coins (of any price range).
Regular coins (yeah, we call them widgets), seem to be languishing a bit if they are not in auction. That is not right as you can get much better deals buying from dealers right now. However, there are not many great cheaper coins to be found. Our buying at Long Beach was ZERO! As we emerge for the summer doldrums the market should return to full strength. We are worried if we will ever buy any great coins at shows again. Until then, you can do some of your best buying today.
WHY SELL NOW?
The market can absorb only so much. We thought it would have run out of steam by now-it has not. When will it stop? Who knows. That is why if you have duplicates or are thinking of selling period, you should do it now while you can enjoy good prices. Trying to judge the top of the market just does not work and usually costs money.

We do not understand why we still have such cool coins like the 1930-S 25C PCGS MS67+ FH CAC or the G $1 1852-C PCGS MS64 CAC. These coins need good homes! If we put them in auction you’d only be in competition and possible pay more. It’s to everyone’s benefit these coins are placed by us. Check out the neat coins we have for sale.
