THE FIREWORKS STARTED EARLY THIS YEAR

Our new motto should be “We did not see that coming.” Our month started out with a million-dollar-plus deal and ended with a lot of good old-fashioned selling from the website. We expected sales in June to be flat. They were anything but that. We were near record sales! Without any doubt in our minds, this is NOT a typical summer for the coin market.

What was selling? GOLD and GEM Type. The 1869 NGC Proof set we posted as our COW was sold within two minutes of the email hitting! And we had two more serious buyers pop up the next day. That is NOT hype; that is the truth (the set was $62,500.00)! For sure, we did not see that coming! Also, most non-nickel coins priced below $5,000.00 are strong sellers. At the Baltimore Show, dealers were flipping through our inventory, with many making piles to buy. for BOTH cheaper and more expensive coins That had long been our fantasy as we handled more expensive coins, and the very first buyer did just that. We even took a pic of the box 75% full! Another dealer we know who handles more circ-like coins with lesser values and soup to nuts said they attended the show with 12 boxes and came home with 7. That means they sold hundreds of coins—crazy!

Proof of the market’s strength is the fact our inventory has been so severely depleted we are now flying to the summer FUN Show early to try and snag a few coins. We have too; we just are that dry for July. We will not be attending the show or setting up. If you wish to see us or offer us coins, email Laura.

We can not stress enough how now is the right time to sell—especially your duplicates. Waiting for ANA is not smart. The ANA auctions typically flood the market with coins and, in the short term, depress the market (although with the way things are going today, that might not happen). Buyers are there NOW, today, starved (like us for coins). It’s far smarter to get the cash TODAY than to wait for ANA time and possibly get less.

What do you have for sale? Right now we will buy entire collections to get the few coins we need or want. Our want lists are HUGE! The coins do not have to be all PCGS CAC either.

NEWPS

For as dry as it is, we managed to find a few amazing pieces. This week’s highlights:

$1 1889-O PCGS MS64 DMPL CAC

$10 1881-CC PCGS MS62+ CAC

$10 1910-D PCGS MS66+ CAC

J-1056 5C 1871 PCGS PR67 RB CAC THE FINEST

We have many more NEWPS posted besides these. We also included a few repriced listings.

Be sure to check out regular inventory. We may give some to our “super secret stealth seller” for Orlando, and then poof—sold!
