LOOK AT THIS NON COIN TRANSACTION
“Comedy star Tim Allen has sold his 2017 Ford GT supercar for $1 million on the Bring a Trailer auction site.
The famed car collector was one of the first customers for the GT, which he called his “silver spaceship” in an unboxing video he posted to YouTube.
Allen originally paid $485,500 for the limited-edition car. Ford is building only 1,350 through 2022 with demand pushing prices of used models as high as $1.8 million at auction.”
That price realized for a 2017 car was crazy. Every thing HIGH END and quality oriented everywhere is enjoying unprecedented demand. Does not matter whether it is art, cars, boats, real estate, or coins. As we all know, in coins, even generics are non existent in the coin market. Due to a roaring stock market and the bitcoin fuel, the rare coin market is enjoying unprecedented growth and consideration. The coin market is probably one of the smallest markets money can squeeze into. Look what has happened to ALL gold. The supply of rare coins is so finite we know dealers who are doing substantially LESS business because they can’t buy much.
Even though it is a selective market, many prices are going up. The biggest increases are in million dollar plus coins, coins BELOW $5,000.00 (pretty much all) and most gold. The bigger denominations of gold, $10+$20’s are enjoying a rocket ship ride up. We even had a deal of PCGS NON CAC better Saints. They sold like hotcakes to dealers for VERY strong prices at the PCGS Invite Show. PUBLISHED prices can not keep up in MOST areas. To be a buyer today, you have to look at a coin and deem its value to your collection. You can look at past prices but they are not very realistic in todays market. You don’t want to lose the chance to buy a great coin. Be prepared!
This past week was the PAN Show in PA (a long time regional show). It was crazy! Our “super secret stealth seller” did well over $200,000.00 in sales and counting. He said the smaller dealers were still starved for coins. He was shocked at how many major dealers were there just to buy as well. He was also surprised at the collector attendance (which was strong). We ‘d expect nothing less then a report like that.
Legend was also grateful to buy a $410,000.00 deal of better SUPERB GEM gold this past week. We got the email Tuesday afternoon from a long time collector (and friend of Legend) and by Wed AM the deal was agreed too. Most of the coins are on long time Want Lists. We thank this person and all the other collectors who are now offering us coins and taking some profits or reducing their dupes while the market is strong. Its a VERY smart thing to do.

Ugh oh! We are BONE DRY of any decent NEWPS. Rather then sacrifice quality, we’d rather offer nothing. Currently we are pricing out our HUGE Gold deal (Indian Gold and Saints). We hope to have several coins to offer next week. Stay tuned!

LRCA conducted another highly successful auction! There were over 500 active bidders-with a record number of live online bids being placed during the sale. Over 90% of the sale was to collectors or dealers we know are representing collectors.
