THE LIGHTS ARE ON!
Tax time has always been a numismatic activity spoiler. This year wasn’t an exception, then the Baltimore Show started and there was a tiny buzz in the pre show dealer rooms. In the end, we were content with how we did at the show. Our real surprise came when we posted NEWPS on Friday. Between Friday 7:30 am and Monday noon, we had sold well into 6 figures of rare coins and had been pretty much cleaned out our NEWPS. One coin was sold only 15 minutes after it was posted! Other coins (None NEWP), such as an early MS ten liberty also was purchased by collectors.
The big auctions that were held this week seemed strong. Anything that was on our radar, we either had to pay way up or adjust our max in order to win it. Bidding activity was very active. What makes it even more interesting, the crackout dealers were not aggressive. PCGS and CACG have held them in serious check. We suspect most coins sold went to collectors. That is really huge. We thought CSNS would be where “the switch turns on”. We’re happy it was earlier than anticipated!
NEWPS
We have decided to skip this week’s NEWPS postings. We bought very little in Baltimore. However, we are starting to get back coins from a super fresh deal we bought recently that we believe many of you will like to own. Those coins are now at CAC.
Of course we are still buying. We need BETTER PCGS/CAC and CACG coins. We are paying $6,150.00 for PCGS/CAC, CACG WM MS66+ Saints.
Stay tuned for our next batch of NEWPS that will be posted April 6th.
