No question this coin is a SUPERB GEM AU piece! It is really hard to see why it is only AU.
Remarkable surfaces are as clean and smooth as you would find on many higher graded coins! Even using a strong glass will not disappoint you. There actually is a visible touch of luster remaining. Both sides are a GEM original deep pewter/lavender/gold color. No question this coin has never been messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are surprisingly well struck. There are NO discolorations of the points. The eye appeal is magnificent!
PCGS 1, NGC 2, CAC 3 (we’re not sure on any of these numbers). The last record for an 1802/1 Wide date selling in auction-was back in 2004. The current PCGS CAC value is $33,300.00. We are shocked that we have never handled an AU 1802/1 Wide Date at all.
