$1 1802/1 PCGS AU55+ CLOSE DATE

Love this coin. PCGS was super critical designating it just an AU55+. We fully designate it a GEM AU! If it had been in an AU58 holder, we would not have flinched. It really is all there and then some. Incredible smooth surfaces are a perfectionists dream. Its hard to imagine how these are no marks-but there is NOTHING to find-even when using a strong glass. A faint luster adds to the totally original “skin” you can see. Both sides have mix of totally original shades of beautiful warm green/blue/pewter/pale purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are remarkably struck. The wear is light and even. There are NO discolorations. The eye appeal is awesome! PCGS 4, NGC 2, CAC 3. This is the ONLY PCGS AU55+ graded. This  is a very hard to find date in ANY state of AU. In AU58 there are 2 by PCGS. Beyond that-there are only 2 coins higher!  NO AU55+ PCGS CAC piece has ever sold in auction. The last PCGS AU55 (NO CAC) sold in 09/2011 for $12,025.00. Here you have what we consider to be a GEM AU 55+ that is totally original and is really good looking. Be glad it is not being sold via auction! Also, this coin is NOT any retread. It is fresh to market, having been held in a collection for decades.
