At first glance, this coin looks like a proof! It is every bit worthy of its MS64+ designation and then some. Having built the #1 all time finest MS set, we can tell you we believe this coin is either the finest or tied for the finest (there is one we have not seen). Its unquestionably one of the best earlier MS Seated Dollars you will ever see.
The obverse has full prooflike mirrors. They show a few trivial ticks but are crystal clear. The reverse has mirrors too but they are more shallow. There is strong contrast. Both sides are untoned. Miss Liberty and the details are evenly covered by thick frost. The eye appeal is spectacular!
PCGS 16, NGC 19, CAC 7. PCGS has graded 3 in MS64+ with NONE higher. The last auction record for a PCGS CAC piece was back in 01/2011. That coin brought $20,700.00. We think this coin is a steal today. When do you ever see spectacular pieces like this offered?
