What an amazing 1873CC! We handled the very best of these and we can tell you, for an MS63 there can be NONE finer.
Virtually perfect surfaces do not reveal even the tiniest scrapes or problems. Even if you use a glass, you will find a few widely scattered microscopic ticks. A moderate luster beams all over (which is typical for the date). Both sides enjoy a totally original deeper pewter color. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. We believe the reverse is what keeps this coin from a full MS64 designation. There is Mint made adjustment marks on the Eagles lower left leg. Overall the eye appeal is fantastic!
PCGS 22, NGC 7, CAC 2. PCGS has graded possibly 9 higher while CAC has beaned 3 higher. The last PCGS CAC MS63 to sell in auction brought $32,900.00 11/2014. The current Collectors Universe CAC Value is $30,300.00. We have seen the majority of 73CC TD’s that have been graded. We would for sure probably recommend this coin over a few MS64’s we have seen (all NO CAC of course).
We can not stress enough what an opportunity this for any CAC or Trade Dollar Collector. This is NOT a retread either!
