$1 1878S PCGS MS66
Both sides are definitely above average in terms of cleanliness. Just a few very teenie ticks are scattered around. The obverse has INTENSELY flashy mirrors while the reverse is satiny and slightly semi prooflike. The luster is intense and shows off a beautiful silvery white color. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and have sharp strikes. There is only a hint of a light roller mark on her cheek. The eye appeal is fantastic!
PCGS 543, NGC 510, CAC 85.
The last PCGS/CAC MS67 that sold went for $14,000.00. That’s a HUGE spread. We think really nice 78S in MS66 are a little too cheap. You do not see them anywhere near as the commoner dates.
