Mike Gilley is name long forgotten in the Morgan world. he was the buyer of the original Jack Lee Collection. Think he had quality? Heck yeah! We do not know if this coin was a duplicate or from his set, but regardless, it is one heck of an 1880S! We do consider it VERY HIGH END.
Simmering surfaces are exceptionally clean. Traces of semi-prooflike mirrors beam from all over. A full cartwheel luster also beams intensely from all over. Both sides are GEM white with a just a faint trace of gold. Miss Liberty and the details stand out with remarkable strikes and frosty details. Her cheek borders on sheer perfection. The eye appeal is awesome!
PCGS 241, NGC 323, CAC 185. We paid a bit strong for this coin because it is so clean and wonderful. There are 80S’s, and there there is this coin!
