So close to being an MS66 DMPL. PCGS showed this coin no mercy!
Deep 8″++ mirrors beam boldly from all over. Even when you use a strong glass you are more then impressed this coin is not hacked up. When you twirl the coin the mirrors have that “water roll”-highly unusual for any DMPL, let alone an 1884. This is an untoned coin with powerful contrast. Miss Liberty and the details are exceptionally struck and are loaded with GEMMY white frost. The eye appeal -for an 1884 is phenomenal!
PCGS 37, NGC 13, CAC 3. PCGS has graded possibly 3 in MS65+ DMPL. You can look hard for years and you will not find a GEM black and white 1884. For whatever reason, they come dull and crusty looking. This coin is light years better!
