The mirrors are NOT the typical shallow barely GEM grade that you see on so many 1887O’s. We rank these as full 8″ GEM DMPL mirrors. They are clean overall and have just a few tiny ticks. They do have extra strong reflectivity, plus they look like a freshly made sheet of glass. There is full contrast between the devices and mirrors. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and have crisp sharp strikes. her cheek will please any picky buyer. This coin has definitely never been messed with. The eye appeal is wonderful!
PCGS 7, NGC 7, CAC 2. PCGS has graded only ONE higher. The last PCGS (NO CAC) DMPL to sell in auction brought $26,400.00 back in 06/2010. The MS66PL in our last auction brought a whopping $61,687.00. Don’t let the pops fool you, this is a rare date in FULL DMPL. We bought this GEM really right and will pass the opportunity on to you!
