$1 J-60 1836 PCGS PR64 RESTRIKE

$75,000.00

Here is another area where we built the finest GEM set. We have seen so many of these. This coin clearly ranks in the top 5% for the grade! The surfaces are incredible. They are ultra clean. using a glass you will find a small patch of raised metal around 11:00 on the obverse. It is Mint made. That might be the ONLY thing keeping it from a PR64+ or even PR65. The mirrors are also deep, super flashy, and are clear. When you twirl this coin the mirrors look like a freshly formed sheet of glass. The obverse has an original deeper peter color while the reverse has the same but with some purple and blue mixed in. Of course Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and stand out boldly. The eye appeal is just gorgeous! PCGS 8, NGC 0, CAC 3. It is critical to note: PCGS has graded 2 in PR64+ and NONE higher. The last CAC  piece to sell in auction was the NGC coin that brought $84,000.00 11/2017. Nothing else had appeared since 2013. Here too the published numbers (like Collector Universe) are very wrong. We did pay much more then the value CU shows! It is believed 1000 pieces were minted. It is also believed these originally were minted for regular circulation. There  is still some debate over this. However, the lesser grades, 63 and below have much larger volumes graded. In the end, this is still a wicked cool Gobrecht Dollar. We can not stress enough how loud opportunity knocks loud here.
