Legend Numismatics is proud to own and offer what is by far the FINEST 1867-S that exists! We do rank the coin as being VERY high end and would not be surprised if one day it ends up in an MS61 holder (we make NO promises). PCGS showed it no mercy for sure (they should have at least AU58+ it)!
This is not a hacked up dull coin. There are some scattered ticks/lines, but you can only see them with a really strong glass. The surfaces do appear smooth. A surprising decent luster beams from all over. Both sides are a totally original even gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are are frosty and are sharply struck. You have to search really hard to find the lightest traces of wear (which we only think we see). The eye appeal of this coin is phenomenal!
PCGS 1, NGC 4, CAC 1. With NO known survivors in MS, this is a very valuable piece. It is our strong opinion this date and grade are grossly UNDERvalued. The best we did for the #1 Simpson/Hall set as a XF. We stand by our opinion, this coin is VERY high end and might even be MS for a 67-S.
If you are a $10 Liberty collector, this is quite possibly a once in a life time coin!
