10C 1804 13 STARS PCGS AU55 PITTMAN/POGUE

$185,000.00

THE FINEST KNOWN. An incredible example.

This date is known to come in poor condition. Many for what ever reason have been damaged and or messed with. Even unmessed with these re not known to come as nice as this coin.

The surfaces are as clean and original ad any later commoner date you might find for the grade. Other then a small ancient old scratch hidden int he shield , there are no defects to be found. There is a slight luster around the peripheries. The surfaces are a totally original antique silver with hints of gold/blue/violet colors scattered around (more so on the reverse). Miss Liberty and the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is excellent!

The extreme rarity and quality of this coin coin is undeniable. Here is a quote about the coin from mega collector and former owner Ed Price:

This is easily the finest I have seen or heard of. I have owned several of these including the James A. Stack coin, a lovely Choice XF with light pin scratches; and the Bolen coin that is plated in the dime book, previously from Lovejoy, Bareford, and Parmelee, a very well struck AU with several strong scratches across the obverse. Other higher grade pieces include the Eliasberg coin, AU50 but gouged; the Garrett VF example; and the Norweb VG-Fine coin.

PCGS 2, NGC 1, CAC 1. The NGC coin probably was this coin. In Pogue this piece sold for $164,500.00 05/2015. As an NGC coin, Pogue paid $149,500.00 07/2008. This coins exposure to the world has been almost non existent. The current collector owner wants nothing more then  this coin to be placed in great home.

Legend Numismatics is honored to be able to offer once in a life time historic coin.
