We sold this coin to a customer back in 2012. It had been in his possession ever since. We believe when we originally purchased it back then, the coin had been an NGC MS66. The 65+ designation is the perfect grade. It is a VERY HIGH END coin!
Shimmering satiny smooth surfaces are endowed with a full booming luster. You can clearly see there are no real marks or problems anywhere. With a strong glass you will find some very minor die clashing. We do consider the reverse a full MS66. Beautiful ‘old time” colors of ORIGINAL golden brown/blue/pale russet/champagne mix with bold ORIGINAL silver. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and have sharp strikes. The eye appeal is a WOW!
PCGS 16, NGC 14, CAC 5. PCGS has graded only 3 in MS65+. This coin brought $18,000.00 in a major auction 1/2025. The current Collectors Universe value is $23,500.00. ANY SUPERB GEM Bust Half Pre 1830 is special and well worthy a premium. These just do NOT appear any more in true GEM! A coin like this needs to be in a great collection or your home!
