1835 25C Quarter Capped Bust, Small Size PCGS MS64 (CAC)

$8,250.00

This is a totally original, very pleasing, Condition Census level B-7, ranking within the Tompkins and Rea et al listings. We consider it VERY HIGH END for the grade!

A sensational near-GEM specimen of this conditionally challenging type. A brilliant, semi-reflective luster glows boldly from below a rich palette of iridescent toning. In general, the devices, overall are crisply rendered and the surfaces are nicely preserved and free of distracting marks or contact. The eye appeal is very high end, indeed in the old days, this coin would likely have been called a GEM.

PCGS 15, NGC 17, CAC 4. The most recent PCGS/CAC example sold for $8,519 in our January 2019 Regency Auction. Clearly the current published levels are influenced by non-CAC auction results. There are 9 coins graded finer, and none have appeared in auction for at least six years! Good luck.
