At first we thought this coin was an MS. That’s how it looked in the box we were blowing through. Looks better than just an AU53 (NO promises).
Lightly abraided fields offer nothing to focus on. The luster is quite bold and shiny. This coin has NEVER been dipped or messed with. Nor is it dirty. The color is a great deeper gold/pale orange. There are no spots or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are well struck. Again, the eye appeal is so nice we thought the coin was an UNC!
PCGS 9, NGC 9, CAC 3. The last PCGS CAC example to sell via auction brought $5,760.00 08/2019. The printed prices are lagging as no others have traded recently. This is a much rarer date than many collectors realize.
