1851-O $10 Gold Liberty No Motto PCGS AU58 (CAC)

No question this is a VERY HIGH END SUPERB GEM AU! Whew! We love everything about this coin.

The surfaces are superb for an AU. There are just a few widely scattered and tiny ticks. You need to use a strong glass to see them. The originality of this coin is unquestionable. There are small traces of semi-prooflike mirrors around a few of the devices. Plus, the overall luster is above average. Both sides are a GEM original deeper gold color. We do not consider this a “dirty” coin. Miss Liberty and the details are nearly fully struck. You have to look really hard to see the super light wear. The eye appeal is wonderful!

PCGS 31, NGC 138, CAC 21. This coin is NOT from the Fairmont hoard. It is housed in an older blue tag holder and has been off the market for quite a while. The last PCGS CAC example to sell via auction brought $5,520.00 11/2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $6,250.00. If you collect O Mints, better gold, or just cool gold, this is a great coin for you!
