Had to buy this wonderful GEM. We marvel at how it has remained problem-free for its 172-year existence. The surfaces have a few light Mint made lines that can only be seen with a strong glass. Both sides have an impressive luster. The color is a totally original GEM yellow gold. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out. The eye appeal is exceptional!
PCGS 7, NGC 11, CAC 3. CAC has only beaned a single coin finer. There are NO auction records for any PCGS CAC piece ever selling. Somehow, there is a Collectors Universe value of $11,500.00. It is our VERY strong opinion this coin is UNDERvalued in today’s marketplace. We have no recollection of handling any in the last few years. We cannot see many more surfacing either.
