This coin is so darn impressive! We used a strong magnifying glass and examined it thoroughly. All we could find were microscopic dots here and there. For an ORIGINAL GEM RED 162-year-old coin, its state of preservation is remarkable and virtually unheard of. It has a wonderful midrange luster (no imagination needed). Of course the GEM RED surfaces are special. There is not toning or fading. Every detail is pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is gorgeous!
PCGS 22, NGC 15, CAC 8. PCGS has graded only 4 in MS65+ RD. The last PCGS CAC MS65+ RD sold way back in 2019. Somehow, the Collectors Universe value is at least $25,000.00. A GEM SMALL MOTTO MS RD 2C is one of our all-time favorite dates. These are far rarer than you think! You will enjoy owning and looking at this GEM just as we have.
