1865 $20 Gold Liberty Type 1 PCGS MS64 (CAC) AWESOME AWA & HANSEN

Delloy Hansen purchased the complete set from Dr. William Crawford of St. Louis, known as AWA. Legend had been so impressed with the set that we tried to buy it for Bob Simspon, but the doctor was not selling it (we even flew him to Fort Worth).

This coin is great! This is a very high-end, no-question coin!

For a bigger gold coin (which is usually soft), this coin is not really hacked up. Only with a strong glass can you find some scattered ticks or small hits. There’s nothing serious that stands out. The entire surface exudes a full, booming, cartwheel-like luster. The GEM Original pale two-tone gold/orange gold colors bathe both sides. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty, and the details are frosty and fully struck. The eye appeal is gorgeous!

PCGS 7, NGC 18, CAC 22, and PCGS has only graded 2 in MS64+. On 1/2022, an NGC MS 64+ CAC sold at auction for $43,200.00. The current Collectors Universe value is $50,000.00. Try and find an MS65.
