1868 $1 Gold Dollar Type 3 PCGS PR64DCAM+ (CAC) 25 MINTED! EX HW BASS

$32,500.00

This ultra-rare coin not only has just 25 minted but has also been off the market since 2001—when it was sold in the HW Bass sale. We purchased it directly from the collector who bought it there.

No question, this is a magnificent coin in every respect.

Exceedingly deep and clean mirrors offer nothing more than a stray light line or two. The mirror’s clarity is outstanding. The flash will nearly blind you! When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a watery-like roll. There are a few light slashes of pale copper toning. There are no spots. The contrast is remarkable. Miss Liberty and the details are pinpointing sharp in strike. The eye appeal is tremendous and equals the ferociousness of any bigger coin!

PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. This is the ONLY 64+ DC graded. THIS COIN HAS BEEN OFF THE MARKET SINCE 2001—BOUGHT DIRECTLY OUT OF THE 2001 SALE. Somehow, there is a current Collector’s Universe value of $32,500.00. It looks like less than a dozen 1868s have been graded to date (in all grades).

With this magnificent coin, you have everything: quality, rarity, eye appeal, and a super pedigree!
