Ah an “old friend”. We love it when we get to buy great coins back. This is an amazing little SUPERB GEM piece!
Deep mirrors a virtually perfect. We used a strong glass and could not find any imperfections. The mirrors are also crystal clear. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors look like a freshly formed sheet of ice. Both sides have gorgeous and luscious neon like toning. Original shades of powerful royal blue/violet/gold /pale green swirl all over the obverse. The reverse has blue by the rims and tangerine/pale violet centers. The contrast is very strong. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and standout with heavy frost. The eye appeal is sensational!
ONLY 600 were minted. PCGS 2, NGC 9, CAC 1. This coin brought $7,500.00 in the Simpson sale 4/2021. The owner changed direction and is now collecting even smaller Proof coins!!!! It is our strong opinion, that obsolete Type like this is grossly overlooked in today’s marketplace. It will have its day!
