1871 2C Two Cents PCGS PR66RB (CAC)

There are so few other series where you can find an OBSOLETE coin that is 153 years old in SUPERB GEM condition for $2,500.00. This is a terrific example for a PR66RB too.

Strong mirrors beam well from all over. The are remarkably clean and have strong clarity. There are NO flecks. The mirrors have a glass like look. The obverse is about 70% GEM Mint Red while the reverse is toned with totally original shades of red/blue/brown. We can assume it was sitting on felt or a cloth for along time. You do not have to squint to see the color mix. All of the details are pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is really SUPERB!

Only 960 were minted. PCGS 37, NGC 25, CAC 22. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell at auction brought only $2,100.00 in 07/2023. That piece was a bit darker. Our piece has life! The current Collectors Universe value is $2,850.00. We 1000% think these coins represent strong value and potential. We are not talking hundreds of survivors here. Again, completing a PR66RB Set is highly possible (save for the 1864).
