1872 2C Two Cents PCGS MS65RD+ (CAC)

Yikes! What an AMAZING HIGH END example of this extremely rare date in true MS65RD! We fully agree it is knocking on the MS66RD door!

The surfaces are remarkably clean and smooth. A really strong luster illuminates the GEM Mint Red colors. There are NO spots or problems to be found anywhere. This is NOT a dull or drab coin either. Every detail is fully struck and stands out. The eye appeal is fantastic!

PCGS 5, NGC 0, CAC 3. PCGS has graded only 2 in MS65+ RD. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell via auction brought $29,375.00 2020. The current Collectors Universe value is $35,000.00. We certainly do not recall seeing any other other NICE GEM RED pieces offered recently. This date and especially this grade is one of the ultimate stoppers for the series (we feel 1867 is the other). In fact, we have no record of ever handling a GEM RD CAC 1872. You can’t go wrong putting this SUPERB GEM in ANY GEM MS RED set or in ANY box of 20. Start a MS RD 2C Set-it will take a while, but with this coin the 1871, and the Bender 1866 in MS66RD CAC you are well on your way!
