1873 $1 Dollar Liberty Seated, With Motto PCGS PR64CAM+ (CAC)

How could we pass this coin up? It is from our recent Regency Auction 57 where it realized $8,800.00.

Here is the desscription:

A VERY high end! Essentially GEM quality. The mirrors are deep and beaming and have ultra rich clarity and cleanliness. Even under a glass only a few tiny stray lines can be seen. The untoned surfaces have a dramatic Cameo contrast that captivates the eye. The devices are especially sharp on the obverse (typical light weakness on the wing feathers is noted) and they possess a full, uninterrupted frost. The surfaces are as brilliantly silver white and untoned as the day it was struck and the eye appeal is exceptional!

Only 600 Proofs were struck. PCGS 29, NGC 14, CAC 10. There are just two in PR64+ CAM at PCGS. The most recent example sold in August 2022 for $9,600 and it was NOT CAC approved. Just a dozen are finer in the designation at PCGS, no doubt including duplicate submissions. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $14,500. RARE any finer, we know this very attractive example will see very spirited bidding when it crosses the block.

Think about what you do NOT see these days. Coins like this. We think building a collection of these 1859-1874 in 64 is a great long term proposition!
