1877 20C Twenty Cents PCGS PR66 (CAC) A KILLER PIECE EX 1994

We LOVE this “old friend”. We placed this coin back in 1994 and then auctioned it in 2017 where it brought $39,950.00. Yes indeed the quality is VERY HIGH END!

Here is the description from our 2017 sale:

“Without a doubt, this piece ranks among the very finest 1877 20C proofs that exist! Of course, this piece is SUPER HIGH END too!

Out of this world mirrors are so deep and so flashy you can see them from across the street! WOW! Even using a strong glass to look for tiny imperfections-yields ZERO. The mirrors also have great clarity. A wonderful and totally original mix of salty blue/purple/rose/pale olive splash all over both sides. The colors are moderate and are NOT dull in any way. Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and do have gentle frost. The eye appeal is super!”

For sure this is one of the flashiest PR 20C 1877 you will ever find. of course the mirrors have a “watery” like roll. It really is all there. You do not need to imagine the colors-this is not one of these dull coins.

Only 510 minted. PCGS 18, NGC 20, CAC 5. This coin was the last PCGS CAC example to sell via auction. And that was back in 2017! Some how the current Collectors Universe value is only $28,500.00. With non trading in 8 years, it should be more. But then we got very lucky and bought this GEM very right. With only 5 beaned, we doubt you’ll see many more offered any time soon!

This is a coin that deserves to be in a big box of 20 or any GEM 20C Proof set.
