Generally, we are not fans of PL’s. However, then they sing and dance like this coin does-we are HUGE fans! Plus, this coin is a true borderline MS68PL!
All we can say is WOW about the mirrors. There are are only a couple of small ticks to found-and NONE stand out. The mirrors are at least 6″ deep and make this coin look like a DMPL. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a tremendous “watery” like roll. There is strong contrast. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have silvery white frost. The eye appeal is awesome!
PCGS 59, NGC 72, CAC 24. PCGS has graded only 16 in MS67+ PL. The last to sell via auction brought $3,850.00 05/2024. In an Internet auction one brought $4,350.00 in November. The current Collectors Universe value is $4,850.00. If you think about it, there are few of these around-w/a bean. An MS 68PL would be well over $15,000.00-if you could find one of the 2 CAC coins.
