1882 Pattern J-1690 5C PCGS PR65CAM (CAC) AN 1882 V NICKEL-HOW COOL IS THIS?

Here we have a true rarity among Patterns: an 5C 1882 Nickel. No question this coin is a standout with VERY HIGH END quality.

This coin is a rarity 5. Only 31-76 were minted.

If you did not check the date, this coin looks like any other GEM Proof Liberty Nickel. Deep and clean mirrors highlight both sides. Only when using a strong glass can you find a tiny lint mark or two (and we mean tiny). The mirrors actually have decent clarity. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors look like glass. There are no spots or flecks. The contrast is strong. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and of course have thick frost. The eye appeal is neat!

PCGS 2, NGC 5, CAC 4 (we do not believe there really are 4 CAC’s). Another PCGS CAC example brought $9,000.00 in 2022. The current Collectors Universe value is $13,500.00. Even if you never buy the 1913 Proof, starting your Proof Lib Nickel set with an 1882 is just as cool (in our opinion)! And if you area Pattern Collector, you already know how cool this coin is! In our VERY strong opinion (and being a leader in the Pattern market) we believe a piece like this offers little down side and has unlimited upside potential.
