We scratch our heads about why CAC would not bean this coin. Understand, we ONLY offer coins that meet our standards-which we know are pretty tough.
The quality of this coin is fine-in OUR opinion. The mirrors are 4″= and have lots of flash. 1883 DMPL’s do not really come deep anyway. Ticks nd marks are scarce. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have that strong “watery” like roll. The contrast is all there-especially for a PL. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and are loaded with soft frost. The eye appeal is nice!
PCGS 17, NGC 3, CAC 6. There has not been one of these sold in a major auction since 2020. The current Collectors Universe value is $2,000.00. We’re definately good with anyone adding this coin to their top Morgan PL set!
