1891 $5 Gold Liberty With Motto CACG PR66CAM (CAC)

$85,000.00

It is hard to imagine a finer Proof $5 Liberty. We rank this coin without hesitation SUPER HIGH END!

Full ultra-deep mirrors have the power and clarity you want in a Proof. We used a strong glass and found no imperfections. In fact, there are more lines/tiny ticks on the holder than on the coin. The flash of this coin is full headlight status. When you twirl the coin, the mirrors have a watery-like roll. The contrast is so gold it looks like the details were carved from a frosted block of ice. Miss Liberty and the details are Pinpoint sharp in strike. The eye appeal is both jaw-dropping and memorable!

ONLY 53 pieces were minted. PCGS 4, NGC 1, and CAC 3. PCGS and CAC each have graded a PR67 and nothing higher. The last auction record for a $5 1891 PCGS PR66 DCameo CAC selling was for $84,000.00 on 09/2025. The current Collectors Universe value is $85,000.00. We doubt if even half of the mintage still exists. Once this monster beast of a coin is placed, good luck finding another! We forever have called Proof Gold like this “the caviar of numismatics.” With a mere 53 pieces and the coin being incredibly eye-appealing, we expect this coin to always be strong in the marketplace. The potential here is unlimited!

Have stuff? Trade your bullion, US Mint products, dupes, or whatever, and add this coin to your collection. Much better value—in our opinion.
