In the old days, the cheek was everything. we had to buy this coin as we are sort of “old timers”. Everything about this GEM is VERY HIGH END.
The cheek is remarkable clean and smooth-even when using a strong glass. You just do not see that on many Morgans these days. The surfaces too are super clean. A strong cartwheel like luster beams from all over. The coin is more a silvery white (as these are known to come). We do not believe this coin was ever messed with. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck. The eye appeal is nice!
PCGS 148, NGC 32, CAC 31. PCGS has graded 43 in MS66+. The last PCGS CAC MS 66+ to sell vi auction brought $5,520.00 08/2024. We paid more for this coin. The current Collectors universe value is $6,750.00. Better GEM Morgans like this are both desirable and hard to find today.
