1902 5C Nickel Liberty Head PCGS PR67+ (CAC) EX GERALD FORSYTHE

This was from our Regency 50 sale. At the price this piece sold for-we had to buy it. Do NOT let the pop reports fool you! Here is the description from the sale:

FROM THE GERALD R. FORSYTHE COLLECTION

Tied for FINEST graded at PCGS, one look at this AMAZNG Liberty nickel and it is clear that it is a spectacular SUPERB GEM. Wonderfully original in every way, the fields have a watery texture that flashes through pale iridescent toning. The surfaces are clean, free of all but the most insignificant, microscopic fleck or two. The devices are sharply struck, with full and crisp definition. The eye appeal is bold.

PCGS 43, NGC 19, CAC 18. There are 22 in PR67+ and we suspect that there is much duplication there in hopes of getting one into a CAM designated holder or a PR68. This SUPERB example brought $3,643 in our December 2019 Regency Auction and the Collectors Universe value is listed at $3,600. NONE are finer and this one is worthy of the FINEST of sets! Good luck.
